Which chronic illnesses are not classified as check ups on doctor's visits

Company does not honour six monthly chronic visits to doctor / hospital as sick leave. Are illnesses like diabetes and asthma not exempted as check ups in South Africa?

My understanding according to Labour Law is that you are allowed a certain amount of sick days, and that these can be used to go for doctor visits. If you go over the limit, then you will get unpaid leave. You employer has to let you take the time to go for medical check ups for chronic diseases. There aren't diseases that are particularly specified for as an exception, as there are many chronic diseases
