  • Musician Bobby van Jaarsveld has been admitted to hospital for extensive testing, according to an Instagram post.
  • "I see that there are some people who are unhappy because I'm not exactly saying what's going on, but to be honest, I don't exactly know either," he explained in the post.
  • Speaking to Channel24, Ronel Brink said that Bobby would not be releasing any additional comment.

On Tuesday, musician Bobby van Jaarsveld shared with his Instagram followers that he had been admitted to hospital, saying: "Spending a couple of nights in the hospital for a load of tests."

On Wednesday, Bobby updated his fans on his condition, sharing a photo taken from his hospital bed. "Just when I thought things couldn't get worse. I look like a freakin blow up fish and a terrorist combo, [sic]" he captioned the photo, adding:  "I want to go home."

In a lengthy post on Thursday, Bobby said: "I see that there are some people who are unhappy because I'm not exactly saying what's going on, but to be honest, I don't exactly know either. The test results will be available later."

He explained that tests involved examining the acid levels in his body, his vocal cords and brain waves.

Bobby also revealed that he suffers from sleep apnea, a potentially dangerous sleep disorder. "I stop breathing about 20 times an hour while I'm sleeping, sometimes for as long as 40 seconds," he explained.

He went on to thank his fans and followers for the good wishes adding that he misses his family and that he "will be fine."

Bobby had previously undergone four vocal and three hernia surgeries.

Speaking to Channel24, Ronel Brink said that Bobby would not be releasing any additional comment, other than what he shared on Instagram.
