Q
Root canal

I am in the middle of having root canal treatment. During the sessions I am in a lot of pain at times. My dentist says I have just very sensitive nerves. She can give me no more pain relief. When I go home I have very mild to very severe pain. I am taking maximum ibuprofen and solpadeine the dentist says this is all very normal. My dentist is very nice and understanding to me but this just does not seem right. Please help, I am properly being silly but need someone to put my mind at rest. Thank you.

A
There is often pain experienced until the root canal procedure is completed- this can take a few visits. In some cases even after the Root Canal, if pain is experienced there is a chance that you may need to extract the tooth.
