Q
Dehydration

I am a type 2 diabetic and struggle a lot with dehydration. It also does not work to drink water as I drink litres everyday. What else can I do to stay hydrated?I am trying to get dehydration supplements, like Rehidrat, but most of them contain sugar, which elevates my blood glucose.

Hi
I'm not sure how you are determining that you are dehydrated. Certainly high glucose levels can dehydrate you, but there is no reason that you couldn't keep up with the losses if you drink enough. If glucose levels are high, then you must lower them, but if glucose levels are normal and you are not on a diuretic, then I'm unsure how you are dehydrated, and you may just have a dry mouth, giving you the impression that you are dehydrated. Suggest seeing your doctor to check your kidneys and blood pressure to see if you are truly dehydrated
