This week saw Princess Charlene and Prince Albert of Monaco's eight-year-old twins beginning a new school year.
In pics posted by the palace on Instagram, Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella posed with their parents. The young royals wore their official school tops with casual pants and sneakers and had their backpacks on.
It’s been a busy week for the family. Over the weekend they attended the traditional Monaco Picnic Basket – an annual event dating back to 1931 which combines elements of a colourful festival with a garden party.

They were joined by other royals including Princess Caroline’s daughter Charlotte Casiraghi-Rassam, her husband, Dimitri Rassam, and sons Raphael Elmaleh and Balthazar Casiraghi-Rassam.
“It’s a fun event, a really nice moment of the year, very informal,” Prince Albert told People last year.
“It’s just wonderful to be able to walk around and have ‘tell me about your summer-type conversations’ with people.”
A few days earlier the royal couple were at the opening of a new exhibition honouring Albert’s late father, Prince Rainier, who passed away in 2005.
And of course the royal couple made sure to support South Africa when the Boks took on Scotland in their opening match of the Rugby World Cup in Marseilles, France.

Both were seen clapping and cheering on the Boks, with Albert at one point putting his arm around Charlene, who looked chic in an all-black ensemble.
The princess is heading to SA shortly for her Water Bike Challenge in aid of her foundation.
The star-studded event takes place at Sun City on 16 September and will feature a who’s-who of sport and entertainment stars.
Among the big names taking part are former Proteas cricketer AB de Villiers, former Bok player Percy Montgomery, singer Jesse Clegg and Hollywood actress-turned-conservationist Shannon Elizabeth.
It will be the former SA Olympic swimmer’s first time back in her home country since 2021, when she was plagued by a series of health issues that saw her unable to return to Monaco for seven months.
