By the age of 70 many women are grandmothers, experiencing the joy of their children’s children without the intensity and responsibility of being a full-time parent.

But to one woman in Uganda, the idea of grandchildren is too remote a concept to even dream of. She’s just delivered twins – and become the oldest woman in Africa to give birth. 

For Safina Namukwaya, becoming a mother has put an end to decades of mocking she endured for being childless.
