A Russian woman who married her adopted son plans to flee to Moscow – as soon as she's regained custody of her five other adopted kids, who were taken from her by concerned social workers.

Aisylu Chizhevskaya Mingalim (53), a music teacher and singer, married Daniel Chizhevsky (22) in October, eight years after she adopted him.

The couple tied the knot at a restaurant in Kazan, a city in southwest Russia.

They met at an orphanage when Daniel was 13 years old, where she taught music.

“Our relationship is perfect," she told local media.

"We can't live without each other. We are on the same wavelength."

Daniel posted a video of their wedding day on Instagram and wrote, “We’ve been going for this day for so long, and it happened so fast. You and I against everyone, against the system, we are incredibly brave. You and I may be an example for those who are afraid of judgement or shy of people, yes . . . We are incredibly bold and beautiful! May the Almighty send happiness and lots of love to all people.”

For Aisylu, the marriage was a way to protect Daniel, she said.

Asked if their relationship was fake, Aisylu claimed the marriage was "legal and consensual", but added that it was "more spiritual than physical".

“When difficult times came, I was simply afraid for Daniel,” she said, referring to Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Russian men can be conscripted from the age of 18.

“He was created for music, not for war, but at the same time, he is at the age when young men should take up arms. I began to think about how to protect him. I consulted with some acquaintances and they suggested this move to me – to marry him.”

Aisylu has seven children, including her new husband.

She has a biological son from a previous marriage and she's adopted four girls and one other boy.

Her other adopted children were removed from her care by social workers after news of her marriage to Daniel broke.

Some of the children are in the state's care and others have been placed with relatives.

Aisylu says she plans to get her children back and move to Moscow, where they can all "live freely".

In March this year, an American woman, Patricia Spann from Oklahoma was convicted on charges of incest and jailed for two years, after it emerged that she'd married her son and, years later, her daughter.

Spann told the court she thought the marriages would be legally permitted as she'd lost custody of her children years before, and was not named as their mother on their birth certificates.

Both marriages were annulled.
