Oh to be so fabulous at the age of 90!
Dame Joan Collins's youthful appearance stole the show at the Emmy awards this week.
The British actress, who presented the award for Outstanding Limited or Anthology series alongside Taraji P Henson, looked half her age as she stepped onto stage in a dazzling pale blue sequin gown and sparkling jewellery.
There wasn't a strand of grey in her trademark raven locks, her skin looked flawless and her figure appeared as slender as when she was a screen pin-up in her twenties.
Social media lit up as fans expressed their disbelief at her age and good looks.
“Joan Collins is 90 years old and still poppin’!” wrote one.
“Okay what kind of vampire diet is Joan Collins on? Girlfriend is 90!” another joked on X (formerly Twitter).
The former Dynasty star has long shot down rumours she’s had plastic surgery or cosmetic procedures to maintain her looks.
“To set the record straight: I have not,” she previously told The Telegraph.

“I haven't had Botox, I haven't had any tweakments, I haven't had fat injections, and honestly, when I look at the women who have – certainly a lot of women in their forties – it appalls me.'
“You can tell I haven’t because I have lines and jowls. When I see women around my age I think, ‘Oh, really? My gosh, I think I look pretty good!”
So just what are some of her secrets? Let's take a look.
Diet
She swears by eating in moderation, supplements and not resisting the odd temptation.
“The quality of what you eat is important,” she says.
“I try to eat a balanced diet. I believe eating avocados is very beneficial and I believe in taking vitamin supplements – I take Vitamin C, E and Omega oils. I don't stuff myself with food. I only eat half of what's on my plate and I won't deprive myself.”
She says she does drink wine and coffee and will indulge in the occasional dessert. “I think I'm just lucky.”
Sleep
The actress swears by sleeping on her back.
“I always, always sleep on my back. I've trained myself to, because I used to sleep on my side, scrunched up into the pillow, and then I was told not to because it gives you 'scrunchy face'.”
Exercise
She swims regularly and works out with a physiotherapist for half an hour every day.
“I highly recommend working out with a physiotherapist for older men and women who want to stay fit,” she told My Weekly magazine.
“Half an hour a day is mostly what I do, and I’ve found it gives me energy.”
Skincare
Joan is also “very disciplined” when it comes to her skincare routine.
“I don't go to bed without taking off my makeup and putting on night cream. My mother had me and sister Jackie doing that when we were 14.”
She also never leaves the house without having supplied sunscreen.
“I have always worn sun protection and kept my face away from harmful rays since I was 20. You should see me when I wake up in the morning: my face is so white, it's like a sheet.”

She also swears by a simple red-carpet trick she learnt from the makeup artist Allan “Whitey” Snyder, who used to get Marilyn Monroe ready for filming.
“Before all big events and post-flights I get a bowl of ice and cotton pads. I cool the pads and place them on my eyes, then lie down for five minutes. It reduces puffiness and refreshes the eyes.”
Makeup
She says she’s always done her own makeup for films or photoshoots. “Now I can do it in 10 minutes, faster and better than anyone I know,” she says.

“You can enhance your features and take 10 to 15 years off your age with good makeup. With the right products and some clever techniques, any woman can look, and feel, fabulous.
“You can’t stop getting older, but you can stop getting old.”
