She may be married to a famous Brit, but Katy Perry clearly isn't quite up to speed with all the finer details around English culture, and this weekend she turned to another famous Brit to help her – designer Stella McCartney.

In a hilarious video posted to her Instagram, the 38-year-old pop star, who was a performer at the star-studded coronation concert at Windsor Castle, asked her followers to weigh in on a few age-old etiquette debates, including whether one should take the tea bag out before one adds the milk.

“Do I put the bag in, or do I take it out before the milk?” she asked Sir Paul McCartney's 51-year-old daughter, who confirmed that one takes it out before the milk.

Katy, who's married to English actor Orlando Bloom, then asked, “Do we put jam or cream on the scone first?”

After correcting the American’s pronunciation of scone, Stella responded with, “Clotted cream first – double clotted cream because if you don't, the jam squishes off.”

Lastly Katy quipped, “Is a Jaffa cake a cake . . .” to which Stella butted in, “Or a cookie, it’s a cookie.”

Katy captioned the clip, “'Hard hitting q’s from backstage with Stella McCartney at the Coronation Concert . . . Fight it all out in the comments and blame Orlando Bloom.”

The Idols judge put on one of the night's best performances, belting out her hits Roar and Firework for the crowd that included the newly crowned King Charles and Queen Camilla as well as the rest of the royal family.

Katy looked sensational in a dramatic gold Vivienne Westwood ballgown made from a metallic leatherette fabric.

She also chose the iconic British designer for her outfit for the coronation ceremony at Westminster Abbey, arriving in a lavender short-sleeved jacket and skirt with matching fascinator.

In a video that's now gone viral, the pop star, whose husband wasn't in attendance, was seen looking for her seat among the 2 200 guests.

Responding to the hilarious clip, Katy reassured her fans later that day on Twitter that she did eventually find it.

“Don’t worry guys, I found my seat,” she tweeted.
