Lisa Rinna is getting refreshingly real about menopause and the changes that come with age.

The former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star recently made some candid revelations about how her and husband Harry Hamlin's sex life has evolved as they've grown older.

"I do think that desire levels change for a man," the actress said in an interview with Cosmopolitan for its new Sex After 60 issue.

"That's just the natural evolution of life. So it's figuring out how to coexist without taking that personally as a woman.

"I think that it's almost more about companionship and about creating space for the ebb and flow of sexuality."

However, the 60-year-old assured readers that she and Harry (72), who have been married for 26 years, are still very attracted to each other.

"We really have great sex together, and we always have," Lisa said.

"It's just that maybe it doesn't happen quite as often as it did when you're in your thirties and in your twenties, I would say. And I think that's normal."

For Lisa, the changes began after she gave birth to their first child, Delilah (25). She says in the first 15 months she had postpartum depression without knowing it.

"I completely lost my mojo."

But after welcoming their second child, Amelia (22), things got better.

“I didn’t know I had it [depression], and then once we figured it out I was treated for it, and I was ready for it when I had Amelia.

"I went on an antidepressant, which helped tremendously. Without that, I don’t know how long it would’ve taken.

"I’m very positive and a very happy person, and I felt completely hopeless. And that’s pretty scary when you’ve never had that happen in your life.”

Another change she had to deal with was menopause.

“It’s really interesting when you go through menopause. I know it’s a drag for people to talk about, and it’s like, 'Oh, it’s a dirty secret, and we don’t want to talk about it,’” she told Cosmopolitan.

“But the truth is, you change. You’re not about making a baby. So, you’re not as crazy sexually driven, you just aren’t.”

Lisa said that when she first started having symptoms of menopause, she didn’t receive hormone therapy. Her mom and sister both had breast cancer, and she worried that hormone replacement would amplify her risk of developing it.

“That was really terrifying because I thought, 'Well, I can’t take hormones.' I was really suffering.

"Everything you can go through, I was going through it. I couldn’t sleep, the hot flashes, everything, and I was anxious and angry and just a mess."

After announcing her exit from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Lisa has started a new chapter.

She founded Rinna Beauty, her beauty and makeup range.

"I feel really proud to express myself the way that I want to at 60 years old," she says.

"I never limit myself, and being able to take risks and have fun with fabulous people just translates into who I am at this moment.

"I don't really think about it too much – I just do it!"
