The condition started when she was in her teens and the messages she kept hearing were relentless. Not thin enough. Not pretty enough. Not confident enough. Not desirable enough. It ruined her twenties and left her believing she wouldn’t be beautiful enough to make anything of her life.

Yet here Emma Thompson is – 63 years old, a multi-award-winning actress with millions in the bank, happily married for 18 years to actor Greg Wise (56), and with a flourishing career.

Still, to this day the A-list star feels pressure about her looks. But now she’s at least settled enough to know how to beat those body dysmorphic-disorder demons.
