The Dolphins will meet the Lions in the final of the CSA T20 Challenge this weekend after they easily dispatched the Warriors in their semi-final clash in Durban on Thursday.

Chasing 162 to win, the home side reached their target with 12 balls to spare to win by 5 wickets.

After losing the toss and being asked to bat, the Warriors struggled to get going, thanks to the accurate bowling of Eathan Bosch and Daryn Dupavillion. They weren't helped by losing the early wicket of Jiveshan Pillay (3).

However, Matthew Breetzke (38 off 35) and Andile Mogakane settled into their work, with the pair putting on 78 for the second wicket in 9 overs, with Mogakane the aggressor.

They targeted Jon Jon Smuts in particular, with the spinner going for 36 in his four overs, although he did remove Breetzke to break the dangerous partnership.

Mogakane continued, eventually falling for 77 off just 45 balls, hitting four fours and four sixes as the Warriors ended on 161/4 with none of the other batters quite able to match Mogakane's strike rate.

Bosch was the pick of the Dolphins bowlers as he ended with 1/14 off 4 overs.

In their reply, the Dolphins didn't have a tardy start like the Warriors suffered at the beginning of their innings, as Khaya Zondo (49 off 23 balls) ensured they were well ahead of the run rate until both he and Grant Roelofson (16) fell in quick succession.

Jon Jon Smuts (34), however, ensured the Dolphins' run rate never dipped, but the Warriors clawed their way back into the match when they removed both Smut and Andile Phehlukwayo (13) before Jason Smith (30* off 18 balls) guided them home.

Sunday's final at the Wanderers starts at 14:00.

Scores in brief:

Warriors 161/4 (Mogakane 77, Bosch 1/14)

Dolphins 166/5 (Zondo 49, Smuts 34, Smith 30*)

Dolphins win by 5 wickets.
