Abha chiefs reportedly held a meeting to discuss what led to Pitso Mosimane's side losing 8-0 against Al Nassr earlier this week.

Pitso Mosimane was quizzed about whether Al Ahli had paid him the R22.5 million that was due to him after FIFA found the club guilty of unfairly dismissing the coach last year.

Mosimane made a return to Al Ahli Jeddah with whom he enjoys a bittersweet history.

The coach was instrumental in guiding the club back to promotion in the Saudi Arabian Pro League, but they were in a prolonged legal battle, and the world football governing body ruled in Mosimane’s favour.

Three months after the saga, Mosimane faced questions over whether he had been fully paid what was due to him after his side Abha Club lost 5-1 to his former employers.

"Listen my friend, maybe to you, money is more important than history,” an animated Mosimane told journalists.

“For me, the legacy and history is what you cannot remove. Al Ahli are back in the Roshin League. With money or no money, it doesn’t make a difference. We continue living life,” he said.

Asked whether he would work for free in the future, Mosimane held no punches stating that money is not the most important objective for him.

“Al Ahli paid me some of the money and I have no problem, you know why? Because they gave me the chance to be in Saudi [Arabia] I would not be here if Al Ahli did not give me the chance. That is more important to me, for you, money is more important,” he continued.

Mosimane's Abha Club have two more matches left in which they have to collect maximum points if he is to deliver on his mandate of maintaining the club's top flight status.
