Erik ten Hag went with the same starting line-up from Wednesday's win over Sheffield United, although Mason Mount was back on the bench while Marcus Rashford missed out once again.
The Red Devils dominated in the opening exchanges and were unlucky not to have found the breakthrough, as Antony and Christian Eriksen went close with efforts from distance in the opening ten minutes.
Burnley, meanwhile, had to wait until the 27th minute for an opening at goal as a swift counter-attack ended with Lyle Foster placing his effort over the crossbar from just inside the box.
Foster got a couple big chances for Burnley as the first half continued, which included a one-on-one situation where the South African striker was denied by United goalkeeper Andre Onana,
The Red Devils began the second in similar fashion to the first, but they were unable to carve out some serious chances while Burnley looked a little lively on the counter-attack at times.
Ten Hag responded with a double change for the final 25 minutes as Rasmus Hojlund and Kobbie Mainoo made way for Scott McTominay and Amad Diallo.
The deadlock was eventually broken in the 79th minute as Burnley tried to play out from the back but Antony pounced on Berge's poor pass to go clear and goal and slot into the bottom corner.
Burnley were given a lifeline with five minutes to play after being awarded a penalty for Onana's foul on Amdouni, who dusted himself off and calmly slotted home the equaliser.
