Only 35% of the R64 billion distributed through the Covid-19 Temporary Employer-Employee Relief Scheme (TERS) by the Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) has been assessed as to whether it was received by the right people.
The Covid-19 TERS was established in March 2020 during the start of a national lockdown that aimed to stop the spread of the airborne virus.
On Wednesday in Durban, Teboho Maruping, the UIF commissioner, and other senior officials addressed the media on the status of the scheme.
