Essential workers in Cape Town live in fear almost daily due to ill treatment by members of the public and criminals.
A report by the City of Cape Town that was tabled during sub-council meetings on Monday has outlined violence against staff on duty and damage inflicted on firefighter vehicles.
"A total of 44 assessments were conducted with approximately 90 staff members having been assisted internally, through the counselling process," the report stated.
