The Gauteng health department will vet the credentials of all senior managers, from director level upwards, Gauteng Health MEC Nomantu Nkomo-Ralehoko said.
"The aim of assessing their [qualifications] is to ensure we maximise our skills within the healthcare system. You can't take a doctor to do administration and tick files instead of doing what they must do," she added.
Nkomo-Ralehoko was addressing a forensic medical services (FMS) Indaba in Kempton Park on Wednesday.
