Former police officer and businessman Terrence Joubert is accused of playing hide and seek with the police over his cellphone's password, which investigating officers believe contains crucial evidence in the University of Fort Hare fraud and corruption case.
Joubert appeared in the Dimbaza Magistrate's Court in the Eastern Cape on Friday alongside businessman and celebrity bodyguard Anwar Khan.
The two have been in custody since their arrest, with 13 other suspects, over the Easter weekend on allegations of defrauding the university of R171 million.
