Celebration Retirement Estate in Randburg, Johannesburg, has become the first retirement estate in South Africa to implement the use of the advanced mobile application, Syntro-P, in conjunction with La Vie Care and Brandmed.

This application allows people with smartphones to monitor their health condition and vitals continuously. By simply looking into their mobile phone’s camera, this application can intelligently collect blood pressure readings, stress levels, heart rate, and other vital information. It can then make recommendations to the user or pass readings on to a doctor, medical service provider, or concerned family member of their choice.

According to Christelle du Bruyn, executive manager of La Vie Care at Celebration Retirement Estate, this application will enable them to better support and care for the residents in the estate. The application will also be of value to children who want to monitor their parents’ physical well-being long-distance. People interested in what this application can offer them are welcome to register for Celebration, La Vie Care, and Brandmed's webinar on Tuesday 22 August, when industry experts will discuss the application of this technology in the retirement environment. Register here for the webinar. Alternatively, visit Celebration Retirement Estate’s open day on Saturday 26 August, where more information will be available.

Celebration Retirement Estate in Randburg, Johannesburg, is one of 13 successful retirement estates already developed by Central Developments. The estate is known for the excellent health care and extraordinary retirement lifestyle it offers its residents. The 24-hour care unit provides world-class frail care on-site and effective home-based care services so that residents can live independently in their own homes or apartments for as long as possible. Home-based care usually offers a more affordable option to residents who must face the challenges of growing older, but are not yet so frail that they need permanent care in a care unit.

Central Developments’ retirement estates all focus on providing a healthy, active lifestyle, safety, a positive social environment, and adequate support services. Their retirement estates are equipped with all the lifestyle, medical, and support facilities and services residents may need while they live in the estate. At Celebration Retirement Estate, various houses and apartments with full ownership are selling from as little as R990 000, and rental units are also available.

Waterkloof Marina Retirement Estate
At Waterkloof Marina Retirement Estate there are waterfront houses, apartments, and a lifestyle centre. Currently there are only 15 houses still available.

For those who prefer to retire in Pretoria, the last 15 houses in Waterkloof Marina Retirement Estate, Gauteng’s only waterfront retirement estate, are still for sale. Central Developments will also launch Bergvallei Retirement Estate in Montana, Pretoria soon. The latter will be the group’s first retirement estate where effective load-shedding solutions will be available in the retirement units right from the start.

For more information on any of Central Developments’ retirement estates, visit their website or call 060 072 9488. Celebration and Waterkloof Marina Retirement Estates are on show daily. Simply call now to make an appointment to view the show houses and lifestyle facilities.
