De Hoop Nature Reserve in the Overberg, home of the world-famous Whale Trail, has recently launched a new trail.
De Hoop Collection’s four-day guided walking experience traverses stretches of the reserve’s deserted beaches, vleiland and fynbos-covered hills.
It’s called De Hoop Trail: Vlei to Whales and guests will walk about 38 km in total and stay in the reserve for three nights, either at the De Hoop Collection’s luxurious off-the-grid De Mond Villa, a newly restored and refurbished accommodation offering on the edge of the reserve’s Ramsar-listed vlei, or at the Melkkamer Homestead on the opposite side of the vlei, about 40 minutes from the central Opstal area.
