The winners of the UD Express Valentine’s Day competition are Maxine Ludewig and her boyfriend, Reagan Rhodes. The lovely couple, who have been together for one year and five months will walk away with a cash prize worth the value of a R1 000.

Here is their story:

On the Saturday, September 10, 2022, I met the love of my life. It was around 18:00 and I still remember the night like it was yesterday. I went to buy electricity at the petrol station in Kariega, where I parked my car next to a red polo (his car). I got out of the car and we greeted politely. As I was standing inside ready to buy electricity I spotted someone (him) watching my every move and then he left the store.

On my way back to my vehicle, he proudly started the conversation with “You need to greet in the morning when I pass you by.” I, with a bold attitude, answered, “Who, me?”

I got into my car and rolled down my window. It started raining and this tall, handsome young man had me thinking about the song “Baby can you stop the rain from falling” but he was talking and as time went by he requested me to send him a message on Facebook and I agreed to it.

When I got home, I thought I was going to make him sweat a bit (it’s a girl thing you need to understand). But just when I thought I’ll let him sweat the guy popped up in my DMs and let us just say the rest is history.

It’s been one year and five months and I still keep falling for the guy I met at the petrol station.

Tip for the ladies: if he can stand the rain for you what would he do in a storm?
