A group of dancers from Bonteheuwel are seeking the assistance of the community to compete in a dance competition in Gold Reef City.

Seven members from the 021 Rebels qualified to partake in the finals of the Dance Supreme Competition.

Wesley Bosch, the coach and founder of the group says it will be a pitty if the dancers can not go because of a lack of finances.

“We have 25 to 30 kids in the group aged between 10 and 17. My focus is on kids in my community to uplift and change their mindsets through dance. In March, I took 7 of the senior members and entered them in the Global Dance Supreme Dance competition at Camp’s Bay high. We entered the teen inter-continental championship section where we placed in the top 4, allowing us to qualify for the final on 6 and 8 October in Gold Reef City,” says Bosch.

Bosch says the kids are very excited because it will be the first time that they will leave Cape Town and go dance in Johannesburg.

“It is a huge achievement for them and our group because now the younger ones can see that what we are doing is something positive. Unfortunately we have to raise our own money for transportation and accommodation fees. Not everyone’s parents are able to give what they need and now we must find money elsewhere,” says Bosch.

If you can help these youngsters achieve their dreams send Bosch a WhatsApp message on 082 907 7712.
