Bettie’s tasty stroganoff
Ingredients
- 30 ml cooking oil
- 350 g lean pork meat (or chicken / beef, deboned and cut into strips)
- 1 onion (sliced)
- 1 garlic clove (crushed)
- 5 ml salt
- Freshly ground pepper to taste
- 3 ml paprika
- 25 ml flour
- 150 ml chicken stock
- 20 ml tomato paste
- 150 ml sour cream or plain yoghurt
- Chopped black olives for garnishing (optional)
Preparation
Step 1: Heat oil in a pan and stir-fry the meat quickly.
Step 2: Add the onion and garlic and stir-fry until onion is glossy.
Step 3: Season the meat with salt, black pepper and paprika.
Step 4: Add flour and stir.
Step 5: Heat combined chicken stock and tomato paste. Add to meat.
Step 6: Reduce heat and stir until slightly thickened.
Step 7: Add sour cream or yoghurt. Turn heat up slightly until heated through; don’t bring to boil.
Step 8: Garnish with chopped olives and serve with a Greek salad.
