The elderly woman that was reported missing yesterday, September 1, was found in a rough and rugged terrain and reunited with her family in Makhanda.
Carol Oosthuizen (70) was reported missing in Makhanda. According to police spokesperson, W/O Majola Nkohli, yesterday afternoon, a herder flagged down a police patrol vehicle between Tamara SAPS and Peddie and alerted members that he saw a red vehicle travelling in the bushes.
"I suspect that a white lady driving that vehicle is the one that was reported missing in the media," the herder said, according to Nkohli.
"Police followed up and found her in a rough and rugged terrain. She was later reunited with her family in Makhanda," Nkohli added.
Oosthuizen went missing on Wednesday afternoon after driving her red Hyundai i20 past Rhini Junction just before 16:00 towards Peddie. According to police information, she suffers from dementia, which impacts her reasoning.
