Something Good, a restaurant in Summerstrand, is proud to announce its role as the host and main sponsor of the Global Diabetes 5km, an event dedicated to raising awareness and support for those affected by diabetes.

The event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, November 25, starting at 09:30 along the picturesque Gqeberha beachfront promenade.

The Global Diabetes 5km aims at bringing communities together in support of a crucial cause. Proceeds from the event will be directed to the PE branch of Diabetes South Africa, contributing to their mission of providing assistance, education, and resources, to individuals affected by diabetes. To follow up on this, the event will have a testing station where participants can have themselves checked out and receive information about diabetes.

Participants in the Global Diabetes 5km can look forward to not only contributing to a worthy cause, but also enjoying some exciting perks.

The first 300 registrants will receive a complimentary t-shirt and a goodie-bag, courtesy of Something Good. Registrations are now open and can be completed online at www.zsports.co.za

Adding to the event’s excitement, aQuelle has joined as the official hydration partner, ensuring that participants stay refreshed throughout the 5km run. Finishers will be rewarded with a well-deserved drink, along with a commemorative medal for all finishers.

“We are thrilled to be part of the Global Diabetes 5km, and to contribute towards such a meaningful cause. Diabetes affects millions worldwide, and events like these play a crucial role in fostering awareness and support,” said Grant Davies, director and spokesperson for Something Good.

The Global Diabetes 5km promises to be a memorable day for participants, sponsors, and the community alike. By coming together for this event, people can make a significant impact on the lives of those affected by diabetes.
