Hearing loss isn't just an older person's problem. More than one billion teens and young people are at risk of hearing loss because of their use of headphones and earphones, as well as their attendance at loud music events.
These were the findings of a data analysis published in BMJ Global Health this month.
The international team of academics, who are associated with the World Health Organisation (WHO), made the estimate after reviewing more than 30 studies in 20 countries. Their analysis involved just over 19 000 people, aged 12 to 34.
