Many parents have witnessed their teenage children suffer psychological and emotional trauma without really knowing the cause. For some, they have had to find out after tragedy strikes in the form of suicide or an attempt by their children, who may find it hard to articulate what is happening to them.
This is a result of various reasons, but primarily that their parents may not even allow them to date at their age. The shame and guilt of disappointing a parent can be overwhelming for teenagers that they would rather suffer in silence and hate themselves for not following their parent's rules.
