On the social media pages for the Prince and Princess of Wales, William posted about the English woman football player Rachel Daly, who announced that she was retiring from international football.
The forward will no longer play for England's national football team, nicknamed the Lionesses.

"Thank you for so many unforgettable performances with [the Lionesses], [Rachel Daly]," Prince William wrote online.
"Plenty more goals for Villa now," he added, referring to the football club Aston Villa, who Daly plays for.
The prince, who is also the president of the Football Association in the UK, signed off his message with his initial 'W'.

"I would love nothing more than to play for England forever, but the time has come for me to hang my boots up on the international stage," Daly wrote in a statement.
"I have a lot of incredible memories during my time with England that have been pivotal moments," she added.
"Winning the Euros and then reaching the World Cup Final changed a lot for me, not only as a footballer but as a person," she said.
"I will be eternally grateful to have been given the opportunity to wear the England badge with immense pride over the past eight years."
"I am excited to keep working hard at club level to reach new highs and spend some much-needed quality time with my loved ones," she wrote at the end of her message.
Prince William is currently spending time with family, as his children are on a school break according to People.
Princess Catherine announced her cancer diagnosis on 22 March through a video posted on the royal couple's social media.
