Current guidelines in the US advise adults spend a minimum of 2 and hours on moderate-intensity exercise to stay fit and healthy. However, a new study led by the University of California that boosting exercise as much as five hours a week may protect against hypertension or high blood pressure in midlife, mainly if this amount of exercise is sustained in the persons 30s, 40s, and 50s.
