While the festive season begins in December for the rest of the world, it's not really the case for South Africa, as we are already seeing the beginnings of our festive season.

The popular energy drink, Red Bull, is kicking off this festive season with some events that will get you ready for the debauchery of December.

Their wholesome yet entertaining events have already hit the event circuit with their first event, the Red Bull BC One World Finals, which happened in Paris. The event saw Cape Town’s very own take on the streets of Paris for a chance to win the breakdancing World Championships. This year's break dance veterans, b-boy Toufeeq and b-girl Keisha, represented our nation well and made for some very entertaining moments in the world of dance.

You haven’t missed out on the fun yet, as Red Bull still has three events lined up that will take outdoor lovers, dance fanatics and avid music listeners on a well-deserved adventure.

RED BULL SOUNDCLASH

This one is a battle for the ages, as Afro-soul and amapiano go head-to-head with the hopes of finding out which local genre is better.

Afro-soul and afro-pop artist Sjava will go up against amapiano royalty Focalistic in a bid to win the hearts of South Africa at the very first SoundClash event. The event will take place on October 28 at the popular SunBet Arena, Time Square Casino in Pretoria, which will be turned into a battlefield, where both artists will perform some of their greatest hits, with each artist even bringing a secret guest artist to blow the audiences away.

Both artists seem very excited about the evening, with Sjava saying:

I’m excited to be one of the first South African artists to be chosen for the Red Bull SoundClash. My team will bring all the fireworks, dedication, and passion to their artistry.

“People will be surprised by my team, and I hope everyone enjoys the music at the end of the day. That’s what makes South African music unique.”

Focalistic adds that he plans on bringing his fans an illuminating and high-energy performance.

“The energy level will be massive on the night, and I promise to bring all the cool, swag and the atmosphere only South Africans know. I’m very excited to be a part of Red Bull SoundClash. The music and catalogue is huge now, and I plan to bring that to the stage.

I might just have the audience do the latest TikTok dance moves.

RED BULL KING OF THE AIR

This one is for outdoor lovers, who want to try doing activities outside of hiking and picnicking. This year, Red Bull’s King of the Air will be crowned in the windy city of Cape Town. The competition will take place for almost two weeks between 25 November and 10 December at Kite Beach in Table View.

Celebrating 11 long years, this year's 18-rider line-up will feature South Africa’s very own Joshua Emanuel, Jason Van Der Spuy and Luca Ceruti, who will be competing at the kite surfing mecca of Cape Town where fans can watch from a fantastic beachside vantage point. The competitors will be combining height, power, extremity, technique and innovation into their performances in the hopes of winning the title. This 18-rider line-up promises an electrifying mix of former champions, renowned big air competitors, and promising newcomers all vying for the throne. Our new king will be the one who combines height, power, extremity, technique, and innovation.

RED BULL DANCE YOUR STYLE WORLD FINAL

You might be homebound in December, but that doesn’t mean you can’t join in on the fun of experiencing some of the world’s best dancers.

This year, the Dance Your Style final will take place in Frankfurt, Germany, on 4 November. Throughout the year, the competition has visited more than 80 countries, with mixed-style dancers taking their chance at winning the title of world champion. The competition has taken on a new approach, as this year, the finalists will have to compete against eight invited wildcard competitors, who will throw a spanner in the works.

This is also the audiences' time to shine, as they will decide who wins by voting for the freshest dancers and crowning them the Dance Your Style World Champions.
