The Electoral Commission of SA (IEC) has responded to the letter regarding the removal of former president Jacob Zuma from the list of Members of Parliament of uMkhonto weSizwe Party (MKP).

The IEC confirmed that it received communication from the party's founder, Jabulani Khumalo, on behalf of the MKP.

In a statement released on Tuesday, 7 May 2024, the IEC said:
