This message follows the official statement issued by Buckingham Palace on Monday, revealing the king's diagnosis. The statement detailed that, during a recent medical procedure, a form of cancer had been identified.

The statement read:

During the king's recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, a separate issue of concern was noted. Subsequent diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer.

“His Majesty has today commenced a schedule of regular treatments, during which time he has been advised by doctors to postpone public duties.”

The palace emphasised that King Charles would continue to undertake state, business and official paperwork remotely. It expressed gratitude to his medical team for their prompt action, and the king's positive outlook on his treatment and eventual return to full public duties.

According to the statement: “King Charles has chosen to share his diagnosis to prevent speculation and in the hope that it may assist the public understanding for all those around the world who are affected by cancer.”

The 75-year-old ascended the throne in September 2022 when his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, died aged 96 after 70 years on the throne.

He is not just king of the UK but also Australia, Canada, New Zealand and 11 other countries.

US President Joe Biden also conveyed his good wishes to King Charles, stating:

Navigating a cancer diagnosis, treatment and survivorship takes hope and absolute courage. Jill and I join the people of the UK in praying that His Majesty experiences a swift and full recovery.
