Employees who were retrenched from Mohlakeng Old Age Home in Randfontein, in the West Rand, are demanding to be reinstated, citing “unethical dismissal” by the department of social development and the facility’s administrator. 

The disgruntled former employees say they were targeted following revelations that they had been deployed to other facilities while money intended for the old age home was used to pay their salaries.
