I feel more refreshed after disturbed sleep

I’ve always struggled with sleeping too much and never seeming to be able to get enough sleep, but recently I’ve gotten a new dog who barks every morning and wakes me up, and it’s turned out to actually be good for me. After my dog wakes me up after about 9 hours of sleep, I go back to sleep for usually another 2 hours before I wake up naturally. After this 9+2 hours sleep I feel much more refreshed than I ever have after one long 11 or more hour sleep. Does this make any sense? It’s quite annoying as I usually take at least an hour to fall asleep, so I’d prefer to only have to waste that 1-2 hours once a day, but it almost seems worth wasting it twice because I’m so much more energized after two sleeps. I thought that maybe my body only knows to go into REM sleep once I’ve woken up? Or that I somehow have a better quality of sleep when I’ve just fallen asleep? Do you have any advice as to how I could sleep fewer hours but still feel refreshed in the morning? I also have fibromyalgia, in case that has any relevance
