Usually, painless bright red blood appears on the stool, on toilet paper, or in the toilet bowl.
Symptoms may, however, depend on the location of the haemorrhoid (internal or external).
Other symptoms may include:
- Pain or discomfort in the anal area
- Itching in the anal area
- Swelling around the anus
- A lump that can be felt in or around the anus
- Difficulty maintaining anal hygiene
