Q
Wellbutrin

Currently I am on Wellbutrin and do not feel that it is doing what I expected. I suppose I feel better but not as I am supposed to be? I lost my wife to cancer on the 23rd of Dec 2017, it was 2 years of hell. On the 3rd of Jan 18 I had no interest in what was going on around me, business is struggling, I live in a house that is way too big and have basically no social life. That scared me enough to seek help, I saw a Psychiatrist for a couple of months, was good but expensive and cannot do that anymore. Nothing really positive is happening???

Hello, Abri,
I have been through similar experiences myself.  Depression and bereavement / grief are similar but not identical.  Antidepressants that help depression have less impact on grief, where counselling is much more useful,  It is clear from what you say that there are active and important psychosocial factors here that deserve to be dealt with properly, Grief ordinarily lasts 9 months or more, even in less harrowing circumstances.  Check also on local availability of self-help and support groups for grief and/or depression : SADAG ( check their website ) may be able to help you find one.
