The United States has confirmed 695 measles cases so far this year, the highest level since the country declared it had eliminated the virus in 2000.
Recently, a public health emergency was declared in New York City as it grapples with one of the largest measles outbreaks in decades, which is centered in the ultra-Orthodox Jewish community in Brooklyn.
Unvaccinated people living in certain areas in the city ordered to get the measles vaccine, with non-compliance possibly punished by fines.
