Battling to walk after knee replacement

Hi - I had a total knee replacement 3 weeks ago.  I'm still really battling to walk more than five minutes due to pain.  I would like to ask about new pain which is now in my ankle after a few minutes after a few minutes. My ankle below the knee replacement swells up and feels cold, and just continues until I can't really stand on it as the swelling in the front prevents it from bending as I try to walk. Is this a normal part of the healing process? I saw the ortho surgeon last week and he said everything looked good but I wasn't getting the painful swollen ankle at that time. Thanks in advance for any advice!

I think this is all part of the healing process and the circulation in the leg is slightly impaired.
You need to attend physiotherapy and you should move your ankles when lying in bed.
An anti-inflammatory like Voltaren might help.
