It's a special day for Prince Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor as the little royal turns five!

Sadly there are no pics for the public to enjoy as yet, because his parents, Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, tend to be fiercely protective of their children's privacy. The duke and the former actress, who also have daughter Princess Lilibet (2), are very serious about keeping their tots out of the spotlight

Despite this, like most parents, they love sharing stories about their kids and what parenthood means to them.

In a 2022 interview with Today, Harry revealed that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree and that his son was as cheeky as him and it’s a side of his that Harry wants to foster.

“I think that the cheekiness is something that keeps you alive. There’s so much to be happy about in the outside world, but there's also so much to worry about.”

The Duke of Sussex, who’s involved in charity work, also went on to say that as a father he works hard to make the world a better place for his children.

“My sort of mantra now every day – it’s a dangerous one, because I need to make sure that I don’t have burnout – is trying to make the world a better place for my kids. Otherwise, what’s the point in bringing kids into this world, right? It’s a responsibility that I feel as a parent."

He has also said that he loves everything that comes with fatherhood.

“The chaos, the learning, the reminder of just every element of yourself, your soul, right?”

When Meghan did her sit-down interview with Oprah in 2021 she revealed which roles mattered to her the most.

“I’ve been a waitress, an actress, a princess, a duchess – I’ve always still just been Meghan, right? I’ve been clear on who I am, independent of all that stuff, and the most important title I’ll ever have is mom. I know that,” she said.

Last year during an Archewell Foundation summit — the non-profit foundation the couple set up under their son’s name — Meghan shared similar sentiments.

“Being a mom is the most important thing in my entire life – outside, of course, being a wife to this one,” she said referring light-heartedly to Harry.

Archie was just four months old when he engaged in his first royal world tour on a trip to South Africa, in 2019, when he famously met the late Archbishop Desmond Tutu.

His mother described him as “an old soul” in the presence of Tutu.

The young royal moved to the United States with his parents when he was just one. The family now live in Montecito, California.

For his second birthday, the late Queen Elizabeth gave her great-grandson a waffle maker because he just loved waffles.

“She sent us a waffle maker for Archie, so breakfast now Meg makes up a beautiful organic mix. In the waffle maker, flip it, out it comes. He loves it,” Harry said on The Late Late Show With James Corden.

Last year in an interview with ITV, Harry said the relationship that he has with his kids is similar to the one he had with his older brother, Prince William.

“To see Lili obsessed with Archie and Archie like, ‘No, no, Lili, I need my space. I need my space now’. I get it . . . I get how irritating the younger sibling can be to the older sibling,” he said.
