Former national captain Corne Krige doesn't foresee Rassie Erasmus taking any undue risks with the Springbok captaincy ahead of the eagerly anticipated series against Ireland - but, if there were to be a premium on installing a rookie, he'd have a left-field choice: Evan Roos.

While South Africa's skipper at the 2003 Rugby World Cup probably would've based that opinion on the Stormers star's body of work over the past three seasons, last weekend's showing against Ospreys seemingly proved a clincher in his mind.
