The mayor of Tshwane, Cilliers Brink, said he was more optimistic than ever about the capital city's future.

He delivered his maiden State of the Capital Address on Thursday morning, outlining recent improvements.

He told residents that he understood those who did not share his optimism, but added that the City was working hard to regain their trust.
