The death toll of shootings in Khayelitsha, Cape Town, on Wednesday morning has increased to eight, said Western Cape police spokesperson Colonel Andrè Traut.

Police believe two shootings, which occurred earlier in the morning, were linked to a later shooting that left five dead in Ncuma Street.

"At around 02:50, an adult male and his adult girlfriend were shot and killed In Feza Street, Harare, and shortly after that, a 35 year old male was shot and killed not far from the first scene."
