Reports of Knysna's decay appear to be greatly exaggerated.
Driving into the logging town turned Southern Cape tourism hub, it is hard to reconcile the recent reports of municipal decay – and a statement from DA leader John Steenhuisen that the town has become a "living hell" since his party was ejected from the pound seats – with what, on the surface, remains an inviting, picturesque town.
Compared to some of the places News24's On The Road team visited on its journey through the country, Knysna is paradise.
