The KwaZulu-Natal Christian Council (KZNCC) has stepped in to mend relations between provincial ANC leaders and IFP leader Thulasizwe Buthelezi, who is also the Zulu traditional prime minister.
KZNCC chairperson Bishop Nkosinathi Myaka revealed this after Buthelezi met members of the clergy at a hotel in Durban on Thursday afternoon.
The relationship between the IFP and the ANC reached an all-time low after a mic-grabbing incident at an event which was held last month to commemorate the 110th anniversary of the death of King Dinuzulu kaCetshwayo.
