SA got its first good news about US relations in ages last week. Then Iran changed the Middle East equation, and so did the US-SA relationship too, writes Phillip de Wet.

Even before the drones hit, Iran was working on de-escalation, saying that it had kept its promise and considered its retaliation against Israel at an end, as long as the Zionists and their imperialist American masters didn’t blah blah, etc.
