The US News & World Report has named the Mediterranean diet the best overall diet for the seventh year in a row.

The organisation ranked the top 30 diets for 2024 with the help of a panel of over 40 medical and nutrition experts. The diets were ranked in 11 categories, which included Best Diets Overall, Easiest to Follow Diets, and Best Fast Weight Loss Diets.

The Mediterranean diet took the top spot in the Best Diets Overall category, scoring 85.1% from the judges. Second place went to the dietary approach to stop hypertension (Dash) diet, with the Mediterranean-Dash intervention for neurodegenerative delay, or "Mind" diet, taking the third spot.
