Day two of the trial between The Health Professions Council of SA (HPCSA) and Prof Tim Noakes saw Presiding officer of the professional conduct committee, Joan Adams, order the HPCSA to provide written reasons as to why they chose to institute a disciplinary inquiry against Noakes.
The council has until Friday 16h00 to submit these details.
The hearing
started last year and was only expected to run for a week, however due to
delays it was extended for a second time. It resumed yesterday on the 8th
of February in Cape Town. The HPCSA accused Noakes of unethical behaviour
because he advised a mom to wean her baby onto LCHF food on twitter.
The tweet read: "Baby doesn't eat the dairy and cauliflower. Just very healthy high fat breast milk. Key is to ween [sic] baby onto LCHF."
